The new EcoBlue Diesel Engine Will Meet the Euro 6 Emissions Standards and Different Displacement Configurations
Ford has revealed its all new diesel engine that comply with the euro 6 emission standards which will come into force from September this year. Initially, Ford has decided to introduce the engine with a 2.0-litre displacement and it will be offered in several models of Ford. New Generation of EcoBlue Engines
The first engine iteration will be used to replace the present 2.2-litre TDCI engine models with the new EcoBlue engines to increase the efficiency of the models.
A wide range of power outputs will be offered on these engines. Ford says that there will be a range of powers from 98bhp to the 237bhp will be available to serve different models from tiny city cars to the larger light commercial vans like the Transit.
How Ford will cover the Engine line-up?
Ford says that there will be six power levels available in the new Ford diesel engine and the first model that will be able to get the new engine is all new Transit van.
Ford has also stated that the new Transit will optimise the fuel economy by 13 percent and will lower the carbon emissions by 10 percent. It is not only the Transit that will enjoy the new engines but these engines will also go into the larger models like the Mondeo and Galaxy.
What Engine Sizes will be offered?
Engine sizes does not matter but the performance matters and Ford has decided to offer the EcoBlue diesel engine in two size initially, there will a 2.0-litre engine for larger models like the Transit and galaxy, however, the 1.5-litre engine will lead the models like the Fiesta and the Focus.
